Turning tradition upside down This small shawl is designed to learn and practice neck-down construction and basic techniques for making a Faroese shawl in the traditional style except upside down!

The size is suitable for 18" dolls and teddy bears, making it a delightful gift for a lucky doll or teddy bear lover!

The Dolly Faroese Shawl pattern is a great way to have fun learning on a small shawl before putting the time into a larger shawl. This basic pattern uses simple yarn over increases to achieve the traditional center back panel, side panels, front bands, and shaped shoulders.

Instructions for three variations are included.

Gauge:

Approximately 4 stitches and 6 rows per inch in garter stitch OR 5 stitches and 7 rows per inch in stockinette stitch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

for 18" dolls and stuffed animals such as teddy bears
Approximately 8" long as measured from center back neck

Materials:

Approximately 100 yards fingering weight or light sport weight yarn for each shawl
US 8 / 5 mm needles suggested
