Pattern Description:

Polar Bear knitting pattern ...

This festive knitted bear would make a perfect Christmas gift, if you can "bear" to part with him! The polar bear has a Santa Claus outfit, with trousers and a hooded jacket. With this knitting pattern you can make your own polar bear. Polar bear is designed to fit into the outfits that are provided with my teddy bear, tabby cat and puppy patterns, so you can dress your toys in different outfits if you wish.

About the pattern ...

The knitting pattern is written row by row so it is easier for beginners to follow, includes a list of abbreviations and step by step construction details with photos to help you. The pattern is written in English. All pieces are knitted flat on straight needles.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • The finished bear measures 25cm high.

Materials:

  • 4 mm straight needles
  • To knit the polar bear you will need approximately 80g of cream worsted weight wool and some toy stuffing, and the Santa costume uses 50g of red wool, and less than 20g each of white and black wool.

You Will Also Need:

  • darning or tapestry needle

Excellent easy to make and so cute!  December 1, 2013

I downloaded this pattern because I thought it was appropriate as it's coming up to Christmas. As usual Amanda's designs are so cute and easy to make, I particularly liked making the little outfit and added my own Christmasy touch by using fluffy white wool for the trim. I would definitely recommend trying this pattern as a nice gift for Christmas.
