It all started when I was pregnant with kid #3. I had been using a Winnie the POO (pun intended) diaper bag for 5 years strait and the thought of lugging it around for another 3 years WAS UNBEARABLE!!! At the same time, I noticed a woman with a cute over sized bag and asked about it. When I found out how it was made, I thought, I can do that. And I did! Then all of my neighbors wanted one.
I am completely a self taught knitter. When I was an EXTREMELY BORED kid, I fashioned some needles from the dowels I pulled off of a couple of wooden coat hangers. I used an encyclopedia to learn the knit and purl stitches .
I did not touch another pair of needles again until I was 34 and needed that diaper bag. Since then, I have sold hundreds of bags, over 2,000 patterns. Although I mostly self publish, my designs have been included in bestselling books, magazines and knitting calendars.
What knitter doesn?t need a big fat cat to knit with? Hey?this one is guaranteed not to shed on your yarn!
Cat-Kitty? When my daughter was the world?s cutest baby and just learning to speak, she would squeal in delight at the sight of our kitty Rudy. She would pat his head as if she was dribbling a basketball and say ?Cat-Kitty? with every pat?so cute. And Rudy, sweet and patient, would sit there and purr.
Form inspired by Kliban?s cats and all things Garfield.
Soft and cuddly?Perfect for hugging.
Big enough to be a throw pillow or a little one?s best friend.
Add a collar or bow tie for a little extra quirkiness or ribbon to encourage little fingers to practice tying bows and knots and working with buckles.
