Pattern Description:

A very cute and cuddly bat to knit for the Autumn season! It is made with some intermediate techniques, such as knitting in the round, but is a fun way to practice your knitting skills. All the toy pieces can be knit up in 4-5 hours, with about 1-2 hours for assembly, making this a fun weekend project. You can also knit one or two, or a whole family of pumpkin friends for your little bat, since they take less than an hour!

Gauge:

22 sts and 32 rows per 4" in stockinette

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 8" tall (bat)
  • 3-4" tall (pumpkin)

Materials:

  • 50 g worsted weight yarn in main colour
  • 15 g worsted weight yarn in contrasting colour
  • 15 g worsted weight yarn in orange
  • small amount of worsted weight yarn in green
  • stuffing
  • 4 mm (US size 6) set of double pointed needles
  • 4 mm (US size 6) pair of straight needles

You Will Also Need:

  • pair of 8 mm safety eyes or buttons
  • black yarn to embroider faces
  • tapestry needle
  • crochet hook (optional)
  • stitch markers

Suggested yarn:

100 yards of Worsted weight
