Pattern Description:

Do you know the little shaker eggs that the music teacher hands out to the little ones at music class? Now you can make your own! I made some 4 years ago, and they still are in existence.

Babies love noise makers, and this is a soft and safe toy to allow baby to play with. The rice (or another dry filling) -filled plastic egg is encased in the knitted covering. It is just right for tiny hands to grasp. Make several and fill them with different dry goods to create different sounds.

One egg can be made in as little as an hour.

Materials:

  • Soft worsted weight yarn - I used Caron Simply Soft - scraps
  • US Size 4 double pointed needles

You Will Also Need:

  • 2.25 inch size plastic eggs
  • scissor
  • duct tape
  • rice, sprinkles or salt to fill egg
  • blunt needle
  • row marker
