Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit and purl
  • basic rib
  • pick up stitches
  • yarn over
  • knit two together
  • cast on and cast off
  • knitting in the round

Pattern Description:

As a child I loved the little crochet doll beds made from old margarine tubs. I decided to recreate the pattern with knitting so knitters could make them too!

This pattern is great for fundraising (you may sell your finished projects), and an excellent way to use up oddments of yarn.


20sts to 10cm/4" over stocking stitch on 4.5mm needles (or needles needed to obtain gauge)

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Base 6" x 7"
  • Height: 8"


  • Worsted weight yarns in the following colors: Dark Pink: Approximately 250 meters (275 yards)
  • White: 20 meters (approx 20 yards)
  • Orange: Approximately 40 meters (44 yards)
  • Pale Pink: 25 meters (approx 25 yards)
  • Scrap of black for baby's face.
  • 40cm (16 inch) long circular needle in size 4.5mm (US size 7) or dpns
  • Small amount of stuffing for baby doll

Suggested yarn:

370 yards of Worsted weight

Preferred Brand/Yarn:
