(6) Name: 'Knitting : Baboon/Mandrill

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knitting
  • Sewing Up

Pattern Description:

This pattern I have called Baboon/Mandrill, although I think to be accurate he is a Mandrill. Apart from his soulful deep eyes, I do hope you notice his prominent brow and his brilliant bright bottom.

This toy is not an easy knit. Well actually that isn't true. The knitting is really quite straight forward, but there is some sewing up. But the pattern has photographs and diagrams to help you.

I have recommended a wool: Sirdar Escape DK, and although any other DoubleKnit wool will work, I think the texture and colour changes of this wool works really well.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Finished Baboon is approx 22cm long

  • Double Knit Wool (Main Shade 25g)
  • Small amount of Double Knit Red, Bright Colour, Dark Brown and Pale Blue
  • Wadding
  • Clip on Eyes

You Will Also Need:

  • Knitting Needles Size 2.25 mm

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

Sirdar Escape DK

Shade 181
