Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knitting in the round, stranded colorwork

Pattern Description:

This fun to knit poncho is worked from the bottom up beginning with a unique twisted edging, then joined to work in the round to the neck.

Fun Fair Isle color work makes the knitting go fast. Create a totally different look for each season by changing colors of yarn used.


24 sts and 23 rnds = 4"/10 cm in Fair Isle pattern with larger needles after blocking. To save time, be sure to check your gauge.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Sizes: 2 (4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14)
  • Finished shoulder circumference: 28 (30, 313/4, 33, 35, 37, 39)"/71 (76, 80.5, 84, 89, 94, 99) cm


  • Worsted weight yarn 330 (330, 330, 440, 440, 440, 440) yds MC; 110 yds each 2 CC
  • US 8/5mm 24"/61 cm circular needle or size needed to obtain gauge
  • US 6/4mm 16"/40cm circular needle
