Petals Knitted Scarf

from Scruffy Dog Knits
(6) Name: 'Knitting : Petals Knitted Scarf

Petals Knitted Scarf
Petals Knitted Scarf

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knit
  • Knit 2 stitches together
  • Yarn over to create a hole
  • Purl 2 stitches together

Pattern Description:

The undulating Petals scarf was named for the way it frames the face when worn. I get lots of questions from people when I wear this, about how it's made and what the shape is. It looks really elegant with a dressy coat and yet can be sporty with a short jacket. It's the perfect all-occasion scarf.

It is very easy to make: there's an extremely simple little secret in creating the wave-shaped fabric. This challenge is well within the skills of a beginner, and will also be enjoyed by more experienced knitters.

And there's an extra added bonus: it requires only about 100 yards of yarn. For many yarns, this means you can get an entire finished project out of just one ball. There are so many gorgeous new multi-color yarns available these days that it can be hard to commit to just one color for a project. You won't have that problem with this scarf! In fact, this is a great way to make gifts. You get the pleasure of trying out beautiful yarns without the problem of "what do I do with 35 scarves??"
