This pattern is based on the descriptions of girls wearing clouds around their heads to go sleigh riding. They were brightly coloured, knitted in a special lace- like stitch and ended in tassels. They were long enough to wrap two or three times around the head. The tassels helped to keep the scarf in place in the breeze and the bright colours looked warm and cheerful against the snow.
Isabella is quite easy to knit. The pattern is varied enough to be interesting to knit even over such a long scarf.
I used one skein of each colour with quite a lot of yarn going into the luxurious tassels.

I live on a smallholding by the sea in the south of New Zealand where I have my own sheep for wool and various other animals. I love designing and knitting - mostly Fair Isle - and playing music.
