The easy-to-wear and flattering A-line shape of Abby's Jacket is created by decreasing some of the stitches in the lower ridge sections and turning the remaining ones into simple right twists. The cables continue upward in becoming vertical lines.
The pretty cuffs on the sleeves are formed with right twists between cables. Releasing them into ridges adds fullness to the sleeves.
The edges are worked as you go so there is very little finishing. Join the shoulders and sleeves with 3-needle bind off; add the neck edging and you're done!

I grew up in the middle of Iowa doing almost all crafts, but knitting and crochet have remained my real and abiding love and passions. I became a professional designer over twenty years ago, was Director of Design for Cascade yarns from1993 to 1996 and started Knit One,Crochet Too, a wholesale yarn and pattern company in 1996. I literally wrote the book on crochet. Some have called Crochet Your Way "arguably the most comprehensive book on crochet ever published." It has remained a top seller for twelve years!
I'm retired from going into an office now, which gives me time to design again and I love it.
