The "Fall Twist Cowl" braids and cables Estelle's Cloud Cotton into a cozy cowl perfect for the changing seasons. The warmth of the organic cotton snuggles you close as the colors reflect the changes occurring in nature. Accented with a recycled clay button, this cowl will keep you in comfort and style as you explore the beauty of Fall.
For the complete story behind "Fall Twist Cowl," please check out my blog post.
I set this pattern at an intermediate level. It requires 3 skeins of Estelle's Cloud Cotton - orange, brown, and red. However, there is enough left over to knit a second cowl if you change which color is main. The pattern includes box pleats, cables, and braids. Since each section is worked individually, beginner + knitters looking for a challenge should be able to complete this project. The pattern includes are written directions, a chart, and a braiding schematic. Of course, I'm available by e-mail for any questions that might arise.
Today is a great day to knit the "Fall Twist Cowl"!

While hospitalized for a long while, I sought an enjoyable distraction from the daily drudgery of medical tests. Having learned some basic knitting skills as a young girl from my talented Baba and very creative great grandmother, I decided to again try my hand at this craft. Knitting quickly became a passion as a single sweater accelerated into creating my own designs for both myself and others to enjoy.
The diagnosis of neurotoxicity, organ damage, and chemical sensitivity mandates an isolated lifestyle free from the impact of modern day chemicals. Eco Chic Knits was conceived with this in mind. As I began to formulate new designs, two key philosophies were foremost in my thinking:
1. Knits that fit curves
2. Unique and intricate patterns
Hence, Eco Chic Knits' debut publication of the "Relaxed Petal Ruffle Scarf." An immediate positive response indicated a niche market.
Concurrently, I am privileged to pursue a Masters of Arts in Philosophy through distance education and am the author of a children's book series, "Cheeky's Tales." The series is based on my Great Dane, Cheeky. In her first adventure, "Cheeky's Security Blanket," Cheeky learns about self-identity and materialism through several incidents involving her collar.
I hope you derive as much enjoyment in working up my patterns as I have had in creating them! Today is a good day to Knit :-)
