My mother taught me the joy of knitting and sewing at a very young age, and I have enjoyed the benefits of knowing these skills for years. I have been raising boys from home and will soon have much more time to knit, and design. I am looking forward to continuing to create fun and enjoyable patterns for hand knitters of all skill levels. Enjoy these designs, but especially enjoy the journey, and sometimes the adventure :), in taking one of my designs from start to the finish!
Advanced Beginner's welcome!
This piece is knit-in-the-round, from the neck to the hem with cables for a cozy high neckline, yarn-overs, for your stitch increases and a color change for fun. The pattern provides you both written and charted instructions. I chose Solitude Wool, Romney 2-ply Aran weight yarn for it's warmth and the stitch definition it gives the cables around the neck. I have enjoyed wearing this about the house and to the grocery store in the early fall mornings. It provides a warmth for your shoulders, and upper body while allowing you the freedom of your arms to continue to do light work at a desk, driving, and many other tasks where the extra warmth is welcome but a coat is not what you want to grab for.
Give this a try with your favorite [#4] Aran wt. hand-painted yarn and enjoy the result! Happy Knitting, Kathy
