Pattern Description:
You'll get attention when you fly out in this shawl! The concept came from my daughter, who is a bee fan. This actually works up quickly in three pieces that are blocked and assembled. For a quirky bee, try using unconventional colors, too!
Gauge:
16 sts = 4" with size 8 needles
Sizing / Finished Measurements:
- 90" wide and 33" deep (wings 11" wide and 30" long)
Materials:
- 3 colors worsted or sport weight yarn
- long circular needle for working with a large number of stitches
- stitch markers may be useful
- yarn needle
Suggested yarn:
1400 yards of Sport weight

A couple of years ago, I began designing knit and crochet items (I confess that I am somewhat addicted to hats...love, love, love hats and have made many for gifts, to donate, and once in while for myself). Small items that work up quickly and travel easily, like hats, wrist warmers, and scarves, seem to be on many people's lists, although I also love making shawls and larger fashion items, as well as toys and dolls. Really, I suppose I haven't come across anything I won't at least try, and I hope you are adventurous in your work, too!
