Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knit
  • Purl
  • Stranding/Weaving
  • Intarsia (connect patches of color)

Pattern Description:

I wanted to make something new and different. Sure, there are many traditional and complex stitches I have yet to learn, but why learn them when I could turn a little sketch into a bed-covering blanket? With different colors, this dragon could create different moods; with different materials (and some creativity), it could be modified into anything you might want to decorate with a picture!

3 stitches by 5 rows = square

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • With a 3-row crocheted border, it should just reach over the edges of a full-size bed

  • Depends on what you want to make it into; I didn't measure how much of each color I used, but I know there were:
  • at least 35oz of 4 worsted yarn in the sky
  • at least 14oz of bright leaf
  • at least 14oz of shadow leaf
  • highlight color for the dragon
  • shadow for the dragon
  • a color for wing-webbing and eyes
  • light branch color
  • shadow branch color
  • second color for sky blend
  • approx. 83 inches of 3.75mm circular needles, more if you use straight
