This very soft and airy receiving blanket is knit in one piece!! There are NO seams to sew and nothing to irritate baby's delicate skin. Using just three colors makes this project quite manageable; however, use as many "butterfly blocks" across as desired, and knit to any length desired. I used Caron "Simply Soft" 100% acrylic yarn, but using thicker yarn (and possibly larger needles - size 10?) will create a wider and longer blanket without adding additional blocks - you choose.
I love to create baby blankets with airiness to them for safety's sake.
12-19-12 - NOTE: Correction to Row 15: there should be a comma after k4 --> k4, (k2tog, yo) twice. This has been corrected in the pattern!
Each butterfly motif is approx. 8 x 5 inches using Caron Simply Soft Yarn.
The edging is approx. 1.25 - 1.5 inches
