Skill Level:

small skill level requirement Beginner

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • cast on, knit, and purl

Pattern Description:

This baby blanket was designed for my new born nephew. Bryson's daddy Blake is an avid bow hunter, so how could I resist the feather and fan knit stitch for Baby Bryson's blanket.

The feathers in the pattern represent the feathers on the hunter's arrow and the fan in the pattern represents the turkey's fan.

Bryson came into this world about 10 weeks early, so it will be a while before he is ready to go turkey hunting with Dad. Right now Dad is content to hold his new son.

Not Critical
one feather and fan equal 4 inches and 24 rows equal 4 inches

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • about 31 by 35 inches

  • USA size 8 circular knitting needle
  • 4 skeins of Yarn Bee, Little Britches, Colorway Baby Camo/#4126

  • The pattern is worked in multiples of 18 so you can make the blanket as large or as small as you desire. I used circular needles to accommodate the large number of stitches

Suggested yarn:

1000 yards of Worsted weight

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

Yarn Bee, Little Britches
