Basic Skills Necessary:

  • The pattern contains: knit, purl, duplicate stitches (but it's a good one to learn)

Pattern Description:

This cute pattern is completely charted.

It's a pretty easy duplicate stitching using only 1 contrasting color: it's a good project if you want to learn that technique.

Your square can be used as a blanket component or a washcloth depending on the yarn you use.

Note that you can make it larger or smaller by playing with gauge.


20 stitches and 28 rows = 4 inches in stockinette

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 8x8" (if knitted to gauge)


  • 1 straight or circular knitting needle size US7/4.5mm
  • Worsted weight yarn: about 60 to 80 yards or main color + small leftover of contrasting color.

You Will Also Need:

  • scissors
  • tapestry needle
  • 2 stitch markers (optional)

Suggested yarn:

80 yards of Worsted weight

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

Rico Design Creative Cotton
