St. Patrick's Day washcloth

from By Hand, With Heart
(6) Name: 'Knitting : St. Patrick's Day washcloth
St. Patrick's Day washcloth

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • basic lace -- YOs, ssk, k2tog, k3tog

Pattern Description:

I wanted to make a shamrock-laden lace poncho and couldn't find a published shamrock that I liked. In working out the shamrock -- and reworking and reworking and reworking -- I came up with the shamrock shown here. I made a worsted-weight cotton washcloth from it and sent it as a thank you for a fellow-knitter swap package!

Directions are both CHARTED and ROW-BY-ROW.

FYI -- here's a link to Brede's Emerald Isle poncho (http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/knitting/Accessory/Bredes-Emerald-Isle-poncho/8195) so you can see how I used this unique lace motif!
