Skill Level:

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • wrap and turn
  • garter stitch

Pattern Description:

This is a fun, quick little knit made using recycle yarn. My original cushion was made using crushed velvet yarn cut into strips. More information about the yarn can be found here - http://kittyfalol.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/making-super-chunky-yarn-from-crushed.html

This is really a prototype for a floor pouffe that I plan to design later this year. It is made all in one piece, using just a 6 row pattern repeat. The circular shape is formed using short row knitting or partial knitting and, as the yarn is so thick, I was able to knit it up in a day.

Gauge:

The gauge of my yarn is 5.5 stitches and 8.5 rows = 10 cm square or 3wpi.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Completely depends on the yarn used. Mine is about 40cm wide

Materials:

  • Large knitting needles
  • Super chunky yarn

You Will Also Need:

  • crochet hook
  • optional needle and thread to sew it up
  • pillow form

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

Recycled t-shirt yarn or crushed velvet yarn. An extreme yarn could be made using several yarns plied together.

Colorway:

Any

I enjoy spinning and knitting the most, but I also run a fairly successful craft blog where I try out a wide range of crafts. Please stop by and find out what else I'm up to - ...
