Pattern Description:

Inspired by the cheerful plant that brings a splash of color during the winter months, I designed and hand knit this 16"x16" Poinsettia pillow cover used a white acrylic worsted weight yarn .

It has an envelope closure so that it can be easily removed to change your seasonal decor or for washing if needed.

The pillow is knit first and then each leaf and petal is knit separately and sewn in place to create the flower.


4" x 4" (10cm x 10cm) = 16 stitches and 24 rows

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 16"x16" (40.5 x 40.5 cm)


  • 1 pair 4mm/US#6/UK#8 straight needles
  • 1 pair 5mm/US#8/UK#6 straight needles

You Will Also Need:

  • large-eyed blunt sewing needle

Suggested yarn:

500 yards of Worsted weight
