Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knitting in the round
  • Slipping stitches

Pattern Description:

I have been bitten by the jamming and canning bug this year, in a most delightful way. In accordance with this new obsession, Mason jars are EVERYWHERE in my house, and we're using them for more and more tasks - storage, eating, and drinking. While sipping coffee from my wide-mouth pint jar the other day, I thought, why not design a cozy for this? It'd be a fabulous holiday gift for all the crafty folk in our lives.

18 stitches = 4"/10 cm in stockinette stitch in the round.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • One size fits most pint-sized Mason jars. Approximately 9.5"/24 cm in diameter, 4.5"/11 cm tall.

  • US #6/4 mm (or size to get gauge) for knitting a small item in the round (either double points, two circulars, or one long circular for magic loop).

You Will Also Need:

  • Tapestry needle

Suggested yarn:

50 yards of Worsted weight

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

Shown in Lanaloft Worsted (100% wool; 160 yards/146 meters per 3.5 ounce/100 gram ball),
