Skill Level:

small skill level requirement Beginner

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knit, purl, sewing seams, increases and decreases
  • Please note, the tree is knitted flat, not in the round

Pattern Description:

I designed this little tree to decorate my dining table for the holidays, to rest my name cards for each place setting. But it would also look festive on a bookshelf or mantelpiece, and can easily be made into a hanging decoration by threading wool or ribbon through the top.

The free pattern includes row by row knitting instructions, and photos to show you how to make the finished tree.

My tree is decorated with beads (these are sewn on after the tree is finished), but you could use sequins, buttons or embroidery for decoration.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • The tree is 9cm high

  • 20g each of green and red double knit wool
  • 3mm straight needles
  • Less than 30g stuffing

You Will Also Need:

  • tapestry needle
  • beads or buttons to decorate, sewing needle and thread
  • ribbon for hanging (optional)
