The Larissa Baby Blanket features lace edges set against a knit/purl pattern adding subtle texture giving depth and richness to the blanket. The rich marbleized color updates the typical pastel color palettes used in many baby items, and the blend of silk and merino wool creates a velvety softness and superb drape to the blanket.
The blanket was designed while my friend was expecting the arrival of her first child, daughter Larissa. I wanted to design a blanket that has rich, vibrant colours, a bit of lace and texture.
The blanket can also be knit as a lap blanket.

I learned to hand-knit at the age of 5 through my grandmother and have always cherished this as one of the greatest gifts of my life. It has provided me with a vehicle for my creative expression and I believe that knitting is firmly embedded in my DNA.
