Pattern Description:
Decorate a cloth doily with a dainty lace edging knitted of fine thread. This showpiece lace-edged doily will look amazing anywhere you want a little something to protect furniture while displaying your lace knitting at the same time.
Gauge:
Lace edging repeat of 20 sts by 12 rows is approx 1-3/4" by 7/8" (44 by 22 mm) blocked
Sizing / Finished Measurements:
- 11" (28 cm) diameter
Materials:
- Approx 65 yards (60 m) of fine lace thread such as 35/2 bleached linen (as shown in photo above), size 30 or 40 cotton crochet/tatting thread, or size 12 pearl cotton
- 8" (20.3 cm) round linen or cotton cloth doily, hem-stitched and pre-washed
- Knitting Needles size US 2/0 (1.75 mm) suggested
You Will Also Need:
- Steel crochet hook size US 6 or 7 (approx 1.75 mm)
- Small amount of waste thread for provisional cast on
- Small tapesty needle with an eye that is just large enough to accommodate your thread
