Item:

Kitchen Accessory

Skill Level:

intermediate skill level requirement Advanced

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit
  • purl
  • twists and cables (at least basically)

Pattern Description:

Named for its ordered placement of climbing vines and bamboo
stitch, enjoy working out your cable needle dexterity with this
one, and read carefully through all the different stitches before
beginning - pretty much every variation on twists and cables lives here. This cloth looks great in both DK and worsted
weights. For a washcloth, I used one of my DK‐weight favorites,
Hemp for Knitting's All Hemp6, but it would also make a great
afghan square knit in cotton, wool, or a blend. I will not deny
that this is one of the more trying patterns I have ever written
and knit - but I felt like a champ when I finished it!

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 8"x8"

Materials:

  • Approximately 2 oz. of cotton, hemp, linen or blended yarn
  • US 8 straight or circular needles

  • tapestry needle for weaving in ends
