Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knit & Purl, Very basic Increasing & decreasing (KFB, k2tog), Knitting in the round on double pointed needles, Mattress stitch or other invisible seaming method, Simple Intarsia color knitting, Knitting from a chart, and I-cord.

Pattern Description:

This pillow is different depending on which side you are looking at. The front of the pillow features an alligator with a closed mouth and a bird sleeping peacefully on his nose. The back of the pillow features an alligator with an open mouth and a bird that is now awake and looking warily at the alligator's teeth.

Gauge:

20 sts & 26 rows = 4" in Stockinette Stitch with 4mm straight knitting needles.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Approximately 17" tall to the top of the bird's head and 16" wide.

Materials:

  • 160g of worsted weight yarn in green (sample was knit using Caron Simply Soft), 25g of worsted weight yarn in red, 20g of worsted weight yarn in light blue, Less than 5g of worsted weight yarn in dark blue, Less than 5g of worsted weight yarn in yellow, Set of 5 4mm (US 6) 7" double pointed needles, 4mm (US 6) straight knitting needles, 12" X 16" pillow form, Stuffing, White & black felt, Scissors, Sewing needle, White & black thread, Yarn needle, Stitch marker
