Illusion knitting portrait of Albert Einstein.
When you look straight at illusion knitting you only see narrow stripes. Move to the side and the picture is revealed.
Illusion knitting is very easy. You only use one colour on each row so there is no stranding or carrying yarns. If you can knit, purl and count you can make this.
The portrait shown was made using DK yarns. Illusions work with any smooth yarn. Using a different yarn might change the overall size of the piece. For a wall-hanging we recommend using needles slightly smaller than you would normally use for your chosen yarn.
All of our illusion patterns come with charts in various sizes, including one specially for tablet use, so you can use whichever you find most convenient.
Photographs cannot convey the WOW factor of illusion knits. Follow the link to our web site for some videos that give a slightly better impression - though they are still nowhere near as good as seeing the real thing.
