Pattern Description:

These placemats are very appealing, with their organic and textural patterns that look bold whilst being very natural. It is a great project for beginners learning lace knitting, as well as experienced knitters who want to whip up something nice and quickly for the house. These are worked in a simple cotton twine found in your local D.I.Y. shop or Home & Garden centre, which has a lovely natural feel whilst also being a bit firmer than regular cotton yarn.

Gauge:

20 sts/24 rows = 10 cm/4 ins in Feather & Fan Patt using US#6/4mm ndls.

21 sts/ 23 rows = 10 cm/4 ins in Porcupine St using US#6/4mm ndls.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • One size:
  • Width: 25 cm/10 ins.Length: 32 cm/12.6 ins.

Materials:

  • Fine cotton twine 100g (400g = 4 placemats)

You Will Also Need:

  • US 6/ 4 mm needles
  • Tapestry needle for finshing
  • Row counter
