Knit your own Fab Four. You will see the faces when you look from the side but see only stripes when you look from directly in front. One of the photos shows what you see from the front.
Photos never do justice to illusion knitting. They have to be seen in real life to get the WOW factor. You can see some videos on the World of Illusion Knitting web site.
The panel shown in the photos was knitted using 3 mm needles and DK yarn but any smooth yarn can be used. It measures approximately 70 cm by 55 cm (28" by 22") and has been designed to be viewed from the side. It is therefore intended to be used as a centre for a bedspread or throw or as a wall hanging.
The pattern includes large and small charts plus a version for tablets so you can use whichever suits you best.
Steve Plummer and Pat Ashforth are leading experts in illusion knitting, having revolutionised the charting methods to create complex pictures from very simple patterns.
