Pattern Description:

A cute little owl to roost on your teapot. Easy to follow, written knitting pattern.
Make yourself an unusual tea cosy to keep or gift.

The sample is made to look like a barn owl, with his white and brown speckled front and his white face, but you could change the colours to look like your favourite owl.


15 sts, 21 rows to 10 cm in stocking stitch on 5.5 mm (US 9) needles, using doubled 8 ply yarn

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • to fit a medium - large round teapot standing up to 15 cm tall.


  • fawn/medium brown colour 8 ply yarn x 50 gms white/ ivory 8 ply/DK yarn x 30 gms feathers type yarn (eg Patons "Feathers" or Moda Vera "Flurry") in brown/cream mix or brown/grey mix x 50 gms 5 gms golden brown 8 ply/DK yarn (optional - bea

  • 1 pair 5.5 (US 9) mm needles 1 pair 25 - 30 mm toy eyes (sew-on "joggle" eyes, or "glass" safety eyes with click-on backs) tapestry needle for sewing seams
