Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Stitches used include knit, purl, yarn over, knit 2 together, purl 2 together, knit through the back loop, purl through the back loop

Pattern Description:

Every baby needs a warm blanket. This lovely stitch pattern is easy to remember, yet fun to knit. If using Dale of Norway "Baby Ull" yarn the completed blanket will be lofty and light-weight, but most important of all - machine washable!

This pattern is in written form, but very staright-forward so chart readers will find it easy to follow. There are no stitches to pick up as the border is knit on with the pattern.

Gauge:

5 1/4 stitches/inch on size 5 needles, in garter stitch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 27" x 33", after blocking

Materials:

  • You will need fingering weight yarn of approximately 940 - 1080 yards. (Yarn used was Dale of Norway,Baby Ull - 6 skeins), one size 5 (3.75mm) circular knitting needle, stitch markers, scissors, darning needle.
