Pattern Description:

This hand knitting pattern was such a pleasure to design and knit, using 100% Pure Shetland yarn for the original sample, spun from the fleece of a small flock of local sheep, located on a smallholding in the Yorkshire Dales. This fabulous yarn knit to the same tension gauge as Aran or Worsted weight yarn.

Designed to fit a 46cm 18in x 46cm 18in Square Cushion/ Pillow Pad.

The knitting pattern is written for any Shetland/Aran/Worsted weight, or 10 ply yarn.
Using 300 grams, approx 750 yards.
You will also need:
1 pair of 5mm (UK6-US8) Knitting Needles.
1 x 5mm (UK6-US8) Cable Needle.
8 Buttons.
1 x 46cm 18in x 46cm 18in Square Cushion/ Pillow Pad.


18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches over pattern on 5mm Knitting needles or the size required to obtain the correct tension


  • 300 Grams Aran or Worsted weight Yarn
  • 5mm (UK6-US8) Knitting Needles.
  • 5mm (UK6-US8) Cable Needle

You Will Also Need:

  • 8 Buttons
  • 1 x 46cm 18in x 46cm 18in Square Cushion/ Pillow Pad.

Suggested yarn:

750 yards of Worsted weight

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

Any Aran or Worsted weight yarn
