Basic Skills Necessary:

  • purl

  • decrease
  • cast on
  • bind off
  • intarsia

Pattern Description:

Snuggle up on the sofa with this original owl cushion/ pillow, he is so soft and cuddly! This heart shaped owl is knit flat on two needles from one side of his face to the other, with his features added using intarsia. The pattern includes row by row written instructions and a chart to help you along the way! Should you wish to make a bigger or smaller cushion/pillow you could use a thicker or finer yarn, however I suggest you use needles approximately 2 sizes smaller than suggested by the yarn company so that the toy stuffing does not show through your finished fabric.

9.5 stitches and 13 rows to 10cm/4in using 9mm/US 13 needles over stocking stitch after light steaming.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 20.5 inches high, 21 inches wide

  • Knitting needles (1 pair 9mm/US 13)
  • Super Bulky yarn - 200g in main colour, 100g and 50g in contrast colours, a small amount of charcoal/black for eyes and beak
  • Tapestry needle
  • Toy stuffing or wadding
