Pattern Description:

A comfortable and classic a poncho that is easily converted into a breezy shirt by using minimal stitching. This garment is meant to be a blank canvas for the beautiful variations in hand dyed and or hand dyed yarns.

Pattern offers sizing from XS- 2X and offers the option to knit in DK weight AND bulky weight.


Dk: 5 stitches and 7 rows over one inch of stockinette stitch.
Bulky:3 stitches, 4 rows over one inch of stockinette stitch.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • XS: 28-30, ( S: 32-34, M: 36-38, L: 40-42, XL: 44-46, 2X: 48-50)


  • Approximately 630(650,700,760,800,860) yards dk weight yarn OR 430(,450,468,480,515,530) bulky weight yarn 200-300 yards contrasting color yarn if desired (less for bulky approximately 100-200 yards)
  • 36"US Size 8, 5mm for dk weight, OR 36"US size 13, 9mm circular needles. (you might also want to have a 16 inch circular needle for casting on and 48 inch circular needle for when you get toward the end of your top. Depending on the size you make, you may find these sized circular needles more comfortable)

You Will Also Need:

  • 4 stitch markers
  • darning needle
