Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Cable cast-on, cabling, decreases, knitting in the round, short-rows, switching from working in the round to working back and forth, three-needle bind-off

Pattern Description:

Turchese is a summer layering top. Its highly textured surface gives its sculptural appeal. The overall 4-st cable is easy to memorize and can be done without a cable needle. Knitted from the bottom up in the round, the only finishing required is the shoulder three-needle bind-off.

Measurements are given both in cm and inches. Both written and charted directions are given for the stitch pattern.

Gauge:

34 sts and 34 rnds/rows = 10 cm (4") in Cable Pattern, blocked, unstretched
29 sts and 36 rnds/rows = 10 cm (4") in Cable Pattern, blocked, slightly stretched

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • XS (S, M, L, 1X) To fit actual bust size 81.5 (90, 98, 106.5, 115) cm / 32 (35.5, 38.5, 42, 45.25 )"
  • Finished chest circumference: 78.5 (87, 95, 103.5, 111.5) cm / 31 (34.25, 37.5, 40.75, 44)"
  • Back length: 54 (56, 57, 59.5, 61) cm / 21 (22, 22.5, 23.5, 24)"
  • This garment is intended to be wore with 0-3 cm / 0-1.25" negative ease. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size.

Materials:

  • Sport weight yarn: 660 (755, 835, 935, 1020) m / 725 (830, 920, 1025, 1120) yds, including 10% allowance
  • 2.5 mm (US 1.5) circular needles, 60-80 cm (24"-32"); adjust needle size if necessary to obtain gauge
  • (Optional) 3.5 mm (US E) crochet hook

You Will Also Need:

  • Cable needle; 1 stitch marker; yarn needle; stitch holders or waste yarn; an extra needle for three-needle bind-off
