medium skill level requirement Intermediate

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit, purl, changing color

Pattern Description:

I love finding interesting, easy ways of using color in a piece. This slip stitch squares pattern is really simple to knit, yet it creates a beautiful, soft look. Work it up as shown here or experiment with your own colors. Try reversing the colors for a different look, as I did in the coordinating cardigan (Pattern 112).

In Slip Stitch Squares pattern, 21 sts and 31 rows = 4"/10 cm.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • XS (31.5") to 5X (62")

  • Worsted-weight yarn, 368-736 yards of main color, 186-552 yards of color A
  • One pair size 7 (4.5 mm) knitting needles
  • one size 6 (4 mm) circular needle, 16"

You Will Also Need:

  • stitch marker

At 6' tall, I used to have a hard time finding sweaters with long enough sleeves. So I took up knitting to make my own sweaters.
