Pattern Description:

Socks are a small fun project, a mini engineering miracle, an art form in themselves. They are ideal travelling knitting and are always a welcome gift - if you can bear to part with them. This pattern gives directions for fine stocking stitch ankle socks for gauges 6.5 - 8 sts/inch, to fit ankle sizes from 8 - 10".

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • adjustable


  • Fingering weight wool-rich sock yarn, 50g = approximately 160 - 212 m/175 - 230 yds. A pair of socks in smaller sizes will require 100g. For long feet, larger ankle sizes or extended sock legs, allow extra yarn. For striped socks allow 100g main and 50g contrast.

You Will Also Need:

  • A set of five, 2 - 2.75 mm (US # 0 - 2) double pointed needles (dpns), 6 - 8" in length.
