Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit, purl, changing colors

Pattern Description:

I liked the idea of using a vertical stripe pattern, but wanted something easy to knit. The striped section of this sweater is knit sideways, and the top portion is then picked up and knit to the shoulders - a simple way to add color and interest. The cardigan goes great with its matching short sleeve pullover (Pattern 108).

Gauge:

In Slip Stitch Stripe pattern, 17 sts and 25 rows = 4"/10cm.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • XS (31") to 4/5X (64.5")

Materials:

  • worsted-weight yarn, 808-1313 yards main color, 202-404 yards color A
  • One pair size 7 (4.5mm) needles (optional)

  • one size 7 (4.5mm) circular needle, 16" long

About the designer

At 6' tall, I used to have a hard time finding sweaters with long enough sleeves. So I took up knitting to make my own sweaters.
