In summer, most people have put away their knitting needles and yarn thinking that it's too hot to knit. Those of us still knitting know that no matter how hot it gets we can keep at our favourite pastime and keep cool. Instead of knitting warm yarns, start knitting up some soft 100% cotton and construct a summery garment or few, piece by piece.
(It can also be knitted in wool for a warmer winter version.)
16 stitches and 22 rows = 10cm over stst

I'm a fibreholic - slightly off beat, dancing to my own tune, a whizz at multi-tasking - I juggle being a wife; mother; fibre artist; author, consulting editor - textiles for Stitches magazine; .. and anything else that takes my fancy.
