Pattern Description:

Riverstone is a simple rib sweater which uses a novel construction method to give you a fun knitting experience and a lovely sweater which will see your child through more than a few growth spurts.


20 stitches and 22 rows = 4 inches in 2 x 2 rib

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Sizes: newborn, 6 mths, 12 mths, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 years


  • Yarn: Fleece Artist Africa felted wool single 108 yards (99 meters) 90 grams (3.17 ounces)
  • substitute: Malabrigo Yarn Merino Worsted
  • Needles: 6mm (US 10) = 1 x 80cm (30 inch) for sizes up to 2 years or 1 x 100cm (40 inch) circular needles (you will be using this straight throughout)

You Will Also Need:

  • Buttons: 1 x 2cm (.8 inch) for neck 4 (4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 7, 7) x 2cm (.8 inch) for side band.
  • 1 stitch holder, 4 stitch markers, crochet hook - 4 mm (G, 6 US)
