Basic Skills Necessary:

  • basic sock knitting skills
  • some experience knitting cables

Pattern Description:

These densely cabled socks were inspired by the rugged rock of the Canadian Shield. The combination of simple and embedded cables is easily mastered by knitters with some cable experience. The recommended yarn creates a casual sock with clear stitch definition. The pattern includes detailed instructions and cable charts. These socks are knit from the top down.


7 stitches = 1 inch in stockinette

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • adult woman


  • fingering weight sock yarn - 350 yards
  • sample shown in Shelridge Farm Soft Touch Heather

You Will Also Need:

  • 2.5 mm double point needles
  • 2.75 mm double point needles
  • small cable needle

Suggested yarn:

350 yards of Fingering weight
