Pomegranate Sweater

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • The design uses texture and cables. The cables are fairly large and require you to add and remove stitches from the panel as you go.

Pattern Description:

This is a heavily textured pullover sweater designed for a light-weight yarn. There is considerable ease in the garment allowing you to use a non-stretchy yarn such as cotton. The sweater is a fairly simple square with drop shoulders and cables on both the front and back.

The pattern includes a diagram, cable charts, and legends. Because the cable designs are so large, they are not written out.


8 stitches and 14 rows =1 inch in 1x1 seed stitch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • This is a loose-fitting sweater with 3-4 inches of ease. Directions are given for 34, 40, 43, and 45 inch bust.


  • You will need 1,200-1,600 yards of fingering weight yarn.

You Will Also Need:

  • The sample was worked on US 3 needles. You may also want 6-8 stitch markers and a darning needle.
