Pattern Description:

Worked top down in one piece, this "big collar" shrug closes with one large button.

Sleeves are worked from shoulder to cuff in rounds, and fitted shoulders and area above hem are worked back and forth with optional short row shaping.

There is a decrease panel down top of sleeves and at underarm, for a more tailored fit.

Folded cuffs are deep to compliment the big collar.


In Stockinette stitch, 11 sts and 15 rows = 2" (5cm)

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • XS, finished chest 30" (76cm)
  • S, finished chest 34" (86.5cm)
  • M, finished chest 38" (96.5cm)
  • L, finished chest 42" (106.5cm)
  • XL, finished chest 46" (117cm)
  • XXL, finished chest 50" (127cm)


  • DK (double-knitting) yarn, 970 yards (885m) - 1585 yards (1450m)
  • Size 6 (4mm) circular needles
  • Size 6 (4mm) double-pointed needles

You Will Also Need:

  • Tapestry needle (blunt point) for finishing
  • Stitch holders
  • Stitch markers
  • Button I.5" (4cm) across center
  • Smaller support button
