Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit and purl

Pattern Description:

This flattering fingertip length cardigan with a single button closure at the ribbed waist, is slightly flared from the waist down, for ease of movement. It is worked in one piece from the hem to the shoulder seams. The sleeve is worked from shoulder to cuff. The fitted shoulder is shaped with short rows, and the tapered sleeve is worked in the round with a decrease panel down the top of the sleeve.

This sample is made from a sportweight 70% merino and 30% silk combination that makes it lightweight with a soft drape.


10 sts and 15 Stocking st rows = 2" (5cm).

  • XS, finished chest 30" (76cm)
  • S, finished chest 34" (86.5cm)
  • M, finished chest 38" (96.5cm)
  • L, finished chest 42" (107cm)
  • XL, finished chest 46" (117cm)
  • XXL, finished chest 50" (127cm)


  • Sport wool and silk, 1100 yds (1005m) - 1625 yds (1485m)
  • Size 7 (4.5mm) circular needles
  • Size 7 (4.5mm) double-pointed needles
  • Size 6 (4mm) circular needle for waist

You Will Also Need:

  • Tapestry needle (blunt point) for finishing
  • 3 stitch holders
  • Stitch markers
  • One - 1" (2.5cm) diameter plus one flat support button for wrong side
