I have been knitting since I was 5 years old (and that's a very long time now!) Since my own children (and my grandchildren) are all grown up, it's lovely to be able to knit items that are pretty as well as practical and to use dainty rosebuds, pretty pearls and lashings of lace and ribbons. All of my patterns can be used for real babies too. I hope my designs bring you as much pleasure as they have brought me x
Also find me on Facebook (Wooly Wotnots) where you will find my hand-knitted items for sale plus baby items I can knit to order.
This patriotic set was based on the Queen's Guard. It is to knit in DK (worsted) yarn with a small amount of eyelash yarn for the hat.
The trousers have an elasticated waist and a single stripe down the outside of each leg.
The jacket has raglan sleeves, a narrow stand-up collar and wrist tab details.
The hat is to knit in eyelash yarn to look like the bearskins that guards wear. It has a chin strap and button detail.
There is also a pair of plain boots.
The beauty of this pattern is in the detail. It is simple stocking stitch, making it ideal for novice knitters.
