This is a comfortable sweater that is perfect for taking long walks in the spring or fall. The cables and seed stitch resemble the new mossy growth, budding trees and vines of the spring forest.,

Worked in the round from the bottom up, this is a fast knit and will have your little explorer out of doors in no time!


5 sts and 7 rows per inch on larger needles worked in seed stitch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • sizes available: 6m (12m, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10)
  • finished chest measurement: 21 (23, 24, 25, 27, 29, 31) in/53.5 (58.5, 61, 63.5, 73.5, 78.5) cm


  • worsted weight yarn approx 550 (550, 660, 660, 770, 770, 880, 990) yards
  • sample used Knit Picks Swish Worsted 100% superwash merino 110 yd/100.6 m per 1.75 oz/50 gm skein spprox 5 (5, 6, 6, 7, 8, 9) skeins

You Will Also Need:

  • US size 6 [4mm] 16 in [40.5 cm] and 24 in [61 cm[ circular needles and double points
  • US size 8 [5mm] 16 in [40.5cm] and 24 in [61 cm] circular needles and double points or size required to obtain stated gauge
  • stitch markers in 2 colors, waste yarn or stitch holders, tapestry needle, cable needle
