Pattern Description:
This vest is worked in one piece from the bottom up featuring crossover ribbing and a sweetheart colorwork design on front. Ribbing at armholes and front is picked up once sweater and hood are knit. Design is a kid-friendly version of Kate' s adult pattern, the Mary Swanson Cardi-Vest. Included are instructions to knit a shorter waist length sweater (shown in size 4) or a longer, hip-hitting sweater. Full schematic included.
Gauge:
14 sts and 16 rows per 4 inches in stockinette on larger needles
Sizing / Finished Measurements:
- Size: 2(4, 6, 8){10, 12-14, 14+}
- Finished Chest: 24.25(26.75, 29, 31.25){33.5, 35.75, 38}"
Materials:
- Yarn: 320(370, 415, 480){550, 620, 675} yards A (add'l 35(40, 40, 45){45, 50, 55} yards for hip length sweater), scraps each B and C bulky weight yarn
- Tools: Size 8(5 mm) needles and set of 5 DPNs (for armhole ribbing), Size 9 (5.5 mm) needles, stitch markers

- Notions: 4(4, 4, 4)4, 5, 5 1-inch buttons or 10(11, 12, 14){15, 16, 17}-inch zipper (add'l 2 inches for hip length sweater)
