A dramatic single-yarn sock, featuring an Estonian Fishtail stitch pattern. For maximum impact, choose a self-striping yarn with strong contrasts and abrupt colour changes. Two cuff options are given; a simple Wavy top or a more elaborate 'no swatching required' sideways sock top.
Instructions are also given for my short row heel.
This sock pattern also appears in my collection, "Cool Socks Warm Feet"
Aim for a dense, durable fabric; the more firmly a sock is worked, the better it will wear. Suggested Smaller needle sizes 2-2.5 mm (US # 0-2) with Larger needle sizes 2.25-2.75 mm (US # 1-2.5)
