Sweater dresses are scary knits. Because they are huge! It's a dress, for goodness sake. So my goal in designing one was to make it worth the time. Melvie is versatile - it's a cute skirt, it's a cute tunic if worn over jeans, it's cute under a jacket, and it's cute by itself. The knit is loose so you won't get sweat out on a warm day.
Melvie, my grandfather, would have been all over this sweater dress. He was all about legs, so he would have said it was pretty sexy. I can't argue with that! This sweater dress is pretty sexy. So, Papa, this one is for you.
Melvie is a bubble skirt dress with cowl neck, slightly puffed sleeves, and button back closure.
18 stitches and 20 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch
